An investment professional and philanthropist, Alfred Zaccagnino has also contributed his skills as the executive producer of the film Mary, Mother of Christ.
Conceived as a prequel to The Passion of the Christ, the film Mary, Mother of Christ will feature a number of accomplished Hollywood performers. For the lead role, the Israeli actress Odeya Rush, born in 1997 in the city of Haifa, was chosen. Ms. Rush began her career at the age of eleven and has since appeared in such television series as Law and Order: SVU and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Cast as a co-star in the 2012 film The Odd Life of Timothy Green, she has since secured roles in the film adaptations of the Goosebumps series and Lois Lowry’s The Giver.
In Mary, Mother of Christ, Ms. Rush appears alongside British actress Julia Ormond, who has lent her talents to such successful films as 1994’s Legends of the Fall and 2003’s Resistance. Ms. Ormond will play Mary’s cousin Elizabeth. The film also features the late Peter O’Toole, cast as Symeon, and Ben Kingsley, who portrays King Herod.
